All of us at Nestlé have been touched in some way by the bushfire crisis, and our thoughts go out to the people, animals and communities affected. As part of our efforts to contribute to relief efforts, we have committed to actions including:
• As fires continue to burn, we will continue to provide additional product donations via our food charity partner, Foodbank. To date, this has included food, pet food, infant cereal, lollies and throat lozenges, and we will continue to provide more for our firies and those in need. We are also providing paid leave to all Nestlé employees serving as emergency volunteers.
• We are aiming to raise $1,000,000 together for the NSW Rural Fire Service and Victorian Country Fire Association, including dollar-matching staff donations and staff fundraising activities.
• To ensure our staff and their affected friends and family have access to professional support, we are extending access to the Nestlé Employee Assistance Program
• Once the smoke clears, we will support recovery by working with our affected small business customers to provide a range of support measures in the months ahead. We will also double volunteer leave for employees who wish to support recovery efforts in affected towns or with wildlife, and are encouraging our teams to consider contributing to the recovery of affected towns by locating offsite meetings and events thoughtfully.
We are extremely grateful for the continued efforts of our emergency services and the care shown by so many for our communities.
