As the world's largest food and beverage company, Nestlé has plenty of opportunities for you to make an impact through the work you do in a truly global business.
The Good Village: the Nestlé for Healthier Kids School Program
The Good Village is an education program under the Nestlé for Healthier Kids global initiative.
Nestlé for Healthier Kids aims to help 50 million children worldwide lead healthier lives by supporting parents and caregivers on their journey to raise healthier kids.
The Good Village has been developed by educators in partnership with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) to give primary school teachers an easy, engaging resource to teach primary Health and Physical Education (HPE) in a way that suits their students’ needs.
The Good Village is a comprehensive, free education program that draws on each of the themes in the primary Health and Physical Education (HPE) curriculum to give teachers a holistic, project-based resource for their students.
Designed as a student-facing website, primary students can navigate around The Good Village, exploring more than 50 differentiated activities that build their skills in nutrition understanding, physical activity and movement, relationships and emotional development and sustainability.
The project culminates with a main challenge that could be targeted for the end of a term or school year, depending on the class, for students to design and build their own athlete village of the future.

Nestlé teamed up with the Australian Institute of Sport in 1999 to inspire families towards good nutrition and getting active. The AIS were part of our very first foray into classroom resources with the Get the AIS Into Your Classroom program launched in 2002.
Being a world leader in sport, the AIS has been able to lend a hand in providing inspiring, high performance athlete ambassadors that give a face to the education.

The Good Village activities are presented by three of Australia’s top athletes, who have a passion for education in health and fitness: Cameron Girdlestone, champion rower and Olympic medallist, Edwina Bone, Olympian and Commonwealth Games medallist, and Shae Graham, Australian Wheelchair rugby player.
All three are educators themselves. Students will meet each of the ambassadors and learn about their habits, training and goals as they discover each section of the Village.

The Good Village aims to support developing a generation of young people who know how to make informed choices about their nutrition, physical fitness, emotional health, relationships and values around sustainability.
We want to support teachers looking to deliver modern, accessible and relevant HPE programs that respond to the diverse needs of Australian students, without the need for hours of preparation.

Designed for teachers, by teachers, The Good Village is based on a modern pedagogy of student-centred learning and project-based thinking. It has a strong link to the Australian Curriculum to ensure its value for Australian teachers.
Teachers can present the activities and main challenge in a way that suits the needs of their class or assign the resource as an individual project for students to explore out of school hours.
The non-prescriptive nature of the resource means that the program can fit into any scope and sequence, in any primary classroom across Australia.
The activities in each area of The Good Village encourage students to learn by doing, applying concepts to their own experiences to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to complete the main challenge.
