As the world's largest food and beverage company, Nestlé has plenty of opportunities for you to make an impact through the work you do in a truly global business.
Allergen Labelling
Nestlé Australia follows the allergen labelling requirements of the Australia New Zealand Foods Standards Code (ANZFSC).
These requirements were updated in February 2021, and a 3-year transition period to mandatory Plain English Allergen Labelling (PEAL) has commenced. The aim of this change is to make it quicker and easier for consumers to find and understand allergen information on food labels.
Importantly for consumers, the statement of ingredients allergens will be declared in bold type, contrasting distinctly with other text. The summary of allergens will also be displayed in bold type and start with the word ‘contains’.
Specified allergen source names have been detailed in the allergen list. Nestlé ingredient labelling currently incorporates all the following when present in the product:
- Gluten
- Wheat
- Peanuts
- Specific tree nuts – for example but not limited to cashew, almond, pine nut, pistachio
- Sesame
- Crustacea
- Fish
- Mollusc
- Soy
- Milk
- Egg
- Sulphites
- Lupins
- Celery
- Mustard
