The report serves as a statement complying with the Modern Slavery Act 2018 in Australia and the Modern Slavery Act 2015 in the UK. It covers the structure, operations and supply chain of the Nestlé business in Australia and the UK for the period ending on December 31, 2020.
Head of Corporate Affairs Nestlé Australia Margaret Stuart said, “Nestlé has zero tolerance for slavery. We have strongly supported the development of Australia’s Modern Slavery Act, and we were actively involved at all stages.
“Slavery is not only illegal, it is against everything we stand for. Such practices are unacceptable and have no place in the world.
“We operate with respect for the rights of the people we employ, do business with or otherwise interact with. We do not tolerate forced labour in our supply chain and are firmly opposed to all forms of human rights violations or poor labour conditions.”
