One of our most important ingredients is cocoa, and we’re committed to sourcing all our cocoa for confectionery through the Nestlé Cocoa Plan by 2025.
The Nestlé Cocoa Plan was launched in 2009 with the aim of improving the lives of cocoa farmers, their families and their communities. The Plan takes a holistic approach to problems in the cocoa industry, addressing the productivity and profitability of cocoa crops, challenges in the supply chain, ageing trees, the use of child labour on farms and training. The Plan is active in Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Ecuador, Venezuela, Mexico and Indonesia.
The cocoa in all Nestlé retail confectionery in Australia and New Zealand is UTZ Certified. UTZ Certified share our vision to help cocoa farmers run profitable farms, respect the environment and enjoy a good quality of life; and for their children to benefit from an education and see cocoa farming as a respectable profession.
