MILO and David Warner a hit with kids

Back to Press releases

Cricketing hero, Allan Border Medallist & MILO Ambassador, David Warner, has proven to be a hit with the kids after hosting a junior clinic for kids at Kensington Oval in Sydney recently.

The hard-hitting opener took to the pitch to help launch the MILO Champ Squad program, aimed at encouraging children aged six to 12 to stay healthy by playing more sport.

The program gives kids the chance to learn new sporting skills from top athletes via the wearable Champions Band, which is an activity tracker that connects to a smartphone app.

David said, “It starts with being active. You’ve got to have fun and you’ve got to enjoy it.”

He continued, “I remember when I was a kid, exactly like these kids, I’d be jumping around and running amok. Seeing these kids growing up and having fun is the most pleasing thing and it puts a smile on my face.”

Among the boys and girls who got the chance to learn new skills with the bat and ball was Warner’s nephew, Kaden Warden, who says he fell in love with the sport five years ago.

“I like batting and opening because I get confident when I bat first. It’s great that David is my uncle because I can go in the change rooms at the games and eat food,” the 11-year-old said.
