Australian dessert creative Katherine Sabbath collaborates with Swiss brand to create delicious dessert to celebrate the opening of Sydney CBD boutique.

Swiss ice-cream brand Mövenpick, will change the way Australia thinks about dessert following the launch of Australasia’s largest store on the 21 March. The new Sydney CBD boutique, located on 580 George Street, boasts multiple dining experiences including a casual coffee lounge, chic modern booths, communal banquettes, intimate wooden benches and delicious Mövenpick ice cream.

For the first time Mövenpick has collaborated with an acclaimed dessert creative, Katherine Sabbath, to create an exclusive dessert in celebration of the new boutique launch. The new dessert is set to be a decadent rich chocolate shortbread tartlet filled with a scoop of Mövenpick ice cream, finished with a dark chocolate and raspberry chocolate shard, all drizzled in raspberry coulis.

“I love ice cream and I was so excited to not only help launch the new Mövenpick boutique in Sydney CBD, but create a fresh and colourful dessert using the best Swiss ice cream as the key ingredient,” says Katherine.

This new dessert will combine the Mövenpick ethos with Katherine’s creative flair. Sydney ice cream fans will be the first in Australia to enjoy Katherine’s bespoke dessert from 24 March. The Chocolate Raspberry Tartlet will be sold exclusively for a limited time at the Sydney CBD Mövenpick boutique priced at $12.95.

Dennis Koorey, Country Business Manager said, “We’re excited to celebrate the launch of Australasia’s largest Mövenpick boutique. Our team has such great passion and energy, and it’s exciting for us to bring our revolutionary vision of culinary excellence to central Sydney with Katherine Sabbath’s Mövenpick exclusive dessert.”

Franchisee of Mövenpick Sydney CBD boutique Leonardo Da Costa, fell in love with the Mövenpick brand after walking into the Bondi Beach boutique and tasting his first ice cream.

“Working with people has always been a passion of mine from a young age. I had worked in our family's hardware business in Brazil from the age of 14, and since being in Australia I’ve always wanted to own my business. Mövenpick is a premium brand and I’m passionate about the product, and I love ice cream!” says Costa.

The new boutique has been renovated by VECA Group who have designed all Mövenpick boutiques in Australia since 2008. VECA have developed the 175 square meter store into a stylish, elegant and stimulating space for customers, accommodating multiple seating areas from modern and sleek booth seating, to classic table and chairs, and more intimate curved wood banquettes with Mövenpick signature black, white and red finishes.
