Australia wakes up to NESCAFÉ Gold Organic coffee

Back to Press releases

Organic coffee lovers can look forward to a delicious cup at home, as Nestlé today announces the launch of NESCAFÉ Gold Organic in Australia - an expertly crafted, premium grade Fairtrade and organic coffee, inspired by baristas.

The exquisite NESCAFÉ Gold range is known for its rich aroma and smooth taste - and the latest addition is no exception. The high quality blend contains Arabica coffee beans, grown and harvested by Fairtrade certified farmer cooperatives in Peru, which are then ground and roasted to produce a soluble coffee filled with exceptional richness and flavour.

NESCAFÉ Gold Organic is a key part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to set the benchmark for reducing the footprint of coffee production. It aims to provide Australians with the option of a high-calibre coffee to drink easily at home, that is made with coffee beans that are sourced in a socially responsible and environmentally friendly manner.

The NESCAFÉ brand has a broad commitment to helping coffee farming communities around the globe under the NESCAFÉ Plan, which has rolled out since 2010. *

The new ethically sourced coffee has been classified as certified organic by the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia (NASAA). It has also been independently certified by Fairtrade. The Fairtrade Mark indicates a commitment to giving farmers and workers stable prices, decent working conditions and the empowerment of farmers and workers around the world.

CEO of Fairtrade Australia & New Zealand, Molly Harriss Olson, said that Fairtrade was thrilled that NESCAFÉ Gold Organic offers an easy way for consumers to make a positive impact in the world.

“Not only can coffee lovers enjoy this quality product, they can also be confident that Fairtrade has been a sustainability partner throughout its production, from working with the coffee farmers to secure fair prices and working conditions, right through to initiatives for environmental protection and community development,” Ms Harriss Olson said.

NESCAFÉ Head of Marketing, Rebecca Dobbins said “We’re excited to share our new premium coffee that not only tastes delicious, but is also socially conscious. Australians enjoy over 11 billion± cups of coffee a year and NESCAFÉ Gold Organic is part of our ongoing efforts to prioritise sustainability, ensuring coffee lovers of the future can wake up to their favourite brew.”

NESCAFÉ Gold Organic is available from May 2017 in 100g jars in Woolworths, Coles and independent retailers nationally.
