New research* commissioned by Fancy Feast shows that while flowers are the classic way to spoil your loved one on Valentine’s Day, more than a third of Australian cat owners (36%) are unaware their floral bouquet can include flowers that are potentially toxic to cats.
Men may be generous givers, expected to spend a combined $314M1 on Valentine’s Day this year, but are the biggest culprits, with almost half (46%) of men surveyed unaware that their floral gifts could be harmful to their beloved’s feline friend.
With potentially toxic flowers, such as daffodils, tulips and lilies often found in popular bouquets, Purina has launched the world’s first Fancy Feast Cat Florist, highlighting the importance of feline-friendly flowers and giving Aussie cat owners the chance to spoil their furry friends with a Fancy Feast x LVLY Valentine's hamper.
Purina Australia Head of Marketing Helen Warnes said: "This Valentine's Day, the team at Purina are thrilled to introduce the first ever Fancy Feast Cat Florist. Daffodil and lily foliage, flowers and pods are just two popular blooms that can cause health problems for your cat if eaten. On this international day of love and bonding, we want to give cat owners the chance to ensure only cat-friendly flowers arrive on the doorstep, to show their cats how much they're loved too."
Carefully handmade by LVLY's team of skilled florists, the Fancy Feast Valentine’s hamper comes complete with cat-friendly blooms and delectable treats, giving Aussies the purr-fect gift to show feline friends how much they are cherished.
To win 1 out of 100 limited edition Fancy Feast x LVLY Valentine's hampers, Aussie cat owners need to follow @fancyfeastau on Instagram and tell us (in words) on the @fancyfeastau Valentine’s Day 2023 competition post how they plan to spoil their favourite feline this Valentine's Day adding #fancyfeast and #loveisinthedetails to their entry.
