Update on NAN Comfort 2 infant formula

In October 2022, we conducted a precautionary withdrawal of one batch of NAN Comfort 2 infant formula. In a small number of cases, plastic pieces had become detached from the plastic lid during opening.

We understand that parents may be concerned and want to assure parents that the product presents absolutely no safety risk to infants. The safety and quality of our infant formula products, and the health of the children who benefit from them, is our first priority. 

Following investigation, we found that the small pieces of plastic originated from the blue plastic lid during opening of the can, due to a minor fault with the equipment that puts on the lids.

Any parents who are concerned that they may have an affected product can carefully inspect the scoop and aluminium foil before opening it, to prevent any plastic from falling into the powder. 

All cans with batch code 21060017C2 available for purchase in-store from December 2022, have had the lid replaced and been inspected by Nestlé. 

The affected batch was distributed in Australia only. Other batches of NAN Comfort 2, and other NAN infant formula products are not affected.
