For nearly 25 years, Nestlé Australia has partnered with Cricket Australia through our MILO brand to support junior cricket development.
In 2013 we saw an increase in cricket participation rates among children, partly driven by the national rollout of MILO T20 Blast for eight to 12 year-olds. This added to the existing MILO in2CRICKET program for five to eight year-olds. Around 832,000 Australian and New Zealand children played Milo cricket in 2013, up from 680,000 the previous year.
We also announced MILO’s first female cricket ambassador, Holly Ferling, joining our team along with James Faulkner and Australian cricket captain, Michael Clarke. These young, up-coming stars of Australian cricket will use their role as ambassadors to encourage children to adopt a healthy diet and active lifestyle.
