When I was about 7 or 8, my single mum started seeing a new man. He was very eager
to impress us and so decided to come over and cook the whole family Spaghetti Bolognese
one night. We all sat down to what looked like a delicious feast, only to find that
it tasted quite horrible. We couldn't work out what it was until my mum pulled a
bottle of unlabeled oil from the shelf. It turned out he's used her massage oil
instead of olive oil!

When I was a kid, we used to go camping every summer holidays. We'd make damper
in the morning and bury it under the embers of a fire along with some jacket potatoes.
We'd then head to the beach for a while and by the time we got back it's be time
to dig up our lunch! It was so fun feeling like we were making real bush tucker.

I'd never forget the first dinner I had overseas. It was a very simple meal of beans
and rice because we were backpacking and didn't have much money, but at the time
it seemed like the most amazing meal I'd ever had.

I recall (very clearly) making toffee when I was about
10yrs old. For whatever reason, I was curious if the liquid toffee was hot enough
and dipped my finger into the saucepan. A clear scream was heard from our kitchen!
A blister just about emerged from my finger on the spot.... Not a good memory, but
a clear lesson learnt!

My mum makes the most amazing lemon meringue pie with
Nestlé’s Sweetened Condensed milk. The filling is beautifully rich and creamy and
perfectly complements the meringue and biscuit base. We cook all gluten free, due
to me and mum being coeliacs so it’s great to have Nestle products that don't contain
gluten. Thanks again!
