Packaging

Nestlé Oceania is committed to delivering sustainable packaging innovations, and to use renewable resources and recycled material where possible.

Reducing the waste-to-landfill rate at our factories is important for our overall environmental performance.

Since 2000, we have been a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant, an initiative that aims to change the culture of business to design more sustainable packaging, increase recycling and reduce packaging waste.

During 2013 we continued to strengthen our relationship with Arthritis Australia, working with them to develop two reports that will help us design packaging that’s easier to open.

Helping the environment:

  • New MILO and NESCAFÉ tins saving 488 tonnes of metal per year.
  • New CARNATION Milk cans are saving 60 tonnes of metal a year.
  • New UNCLE TOBYS cereal bags saving 128 tonnes packaging annually.
