Coffee drinkers celebrate 70% more antioxidants with launch of NESCAFÉ® Greenblend

(Sydney, AUSTRALIA) – Nestlé have launched new NESCAFÉ® Greenblend, the first instant coffee that delivers 70% more antioxidants than green tea*.

This innovation is a first for the Australian coffee industry – the only coffee in Australia to boast a unique blend of green and roasted coffee beans, while not compromising the taste.A recent clinical study found that although an average serve of green tea contains similar levels of polyphenol antioxidants, the body absorbs 70% more antioxidants, from a serve of NESCAFÉ Greenblend*.1

“Through the careful combination of roasted and unroasted coffee beans, new NESCAFÉ Greenblend has a full coffee taste and aroma and along with delivering 70% more antioxidants than green tea, Australians now have another reason to enjoy a cup of instant coffee every day”, said Penny Small, Nestlé Corporate Nutritionist.

“Discerning coffee drinkers will notice that the delivery of the 70% more antioxidants than green tea is provided in a coffee that is great tasting, but without any compromise on the flavour”.

Whilst other instant coffee also provides a natural source of antioxidants,2 new NESCAFÉ Greenblend boasts a larger quantity of the type of coffee antioxidants that are readily absorbed by the body.

“Coffee in moderation – 3-4 cups a day – as part of a balanced diet can contribute positively to health and wellbeing. Coffee can be associated with feelings of increased energy, motivation, alertness and concentration,” said Ms Small.

“In a time where Australians are looking to make informed purchase decisions for themselves and their families, new NESCAFÉ Greenblend is a must have for all coffee lovers,” Ms Small concluded.

NESCAFÉ Greenblend is now available in supermarkets across Australia.
