Fast Facts - Women on the Go

Busy, active women with family, work and exercise commitments need a diet that gives them energy.
Nestlé, in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), has undertaken important research in the area of sports nutrition. The knowledge gained can benefit every Australian woman with an active lifestyle.

We all know good nutrition is important for everyone, especially active women. Michelle Minehan, a sports nutritionist at the AIS, says that achieving and maintaining an 'ideal' body weight is an issue for most active women. However, under eating to achieve this goal can often leave women chronically tired. The truth is, better fuelling can better provide the energy needed. Another common problem among busy women lacking energy is iron deficiency. Since iron helps carry oxygen to working muscles, lack of iron can result in early fatigue, leaving busy women short on the energy they need to keep going.
