Juggling the demands of an active family is a major challenge for today's parents.
Nestlé, together with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), understands that providing nutritious meals which satisfy everyone's schedule and tastebuds can be a tough task. Greg Cox, a sports dietitian at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), says that planning and good use of resources is the key to keeping up with an active family.
- Start by keeping the kitchen stocked with a base supply of noodles, sauces, stocks, pasta, rice, couscous, flavourings and frozen vegetables.
- Don't feel guilty about using convenience foods to start meals as many have good nutritional profiles. Add some fresh ingredients to add your own unique touch.
- When time is available, prepare favourite dishes and freeze in individual portions. This is a great back up when family members straggle in at different hours for meals.
