Louise Bell

Nestlé Fellow 2002

"The opportunity to work with elite athletes at one of the most recognised sports institutions in the world has been a thoroughly rewarding experience. I feel privileged to be part of a motivating environment where AIS sports dietitians and exercise scientists are at the forefront of sports science research and education."

Louise Bell is the Nestlé Fellow in Sports Nutrition at the Australian Institute of Sport in 2002.

Louise has a background in both exercise physiology and sports nutrition, and has also spent a number of years working in marketing and nutrition communications in both Australia and Canada.

Her role at the AIS is to provide nutrition support to the Men's and Women's Basketball programs, as well as the AFL, Rugby League, Rugby Union and Sailing programs.

She was fortunate to travel to Athens recently with the Australian Sailing Team to conduct hydration research while the team was competing in a pre-Olympic test event leading up to the 2004 Olympics. She has also been involved in a research project that explored performance benefits of a new sports drink.
